Job Description:
Primary Purpose Under the general direction of the External
Relations Director and the Assistant Dean for Innovation and
Professional Development, this position assists in the development
and coordination of the School of Engineering and Computer Science
Corporate Affiliates Program ( CAP ). Responsibilities include
creating and managing various sponsored projects, such as sponsored
research, clinical, and global programs. The role also involves
generating collaborative internal and external relationships,
managing databases, and creating marketing and promotional
materials. Essential Functions Develop, coordinate, and monitor
programming related to the sponsored research program, clinic
program, and global program. Collaborate with faculty and student
to promote new experiential learning opportunities. Support faculty
in evaluating job opportunities to ensure suitability as academic
learning experiences. Create and maintain electronic
student/employer files and CAP databases, including those for
sponsored research projects, faculty research interests, and
equipment/software. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time,
within scope, and according to the established timeline. Utilize
effectively Handshake and other service management systems, to
promote projects to students, provide support to employers, and
help users navigate the systems. Engage employers in diverse
fields, particularly in engineering and computer science, with the
goal of developing quality experiences for Pacific students and
alumni. Identify and engage in development of collaborative
research opportunities with other schools/departments/divisions
across Pacific and with other research partners. Send monthly
emails to update faculty and other campus partners about sponsored
projects, resources, and events. Highlight and promote the research
interests of SOECS faculty members. Collaborate with the CAP team
to serve SOECS students effectively. In collaboration with
department staff, hire and train student staff. Create, track, and
maintain comprehensive project documentation and progress reports.
Create content for social media and the website. Promote and
participate in CO-OP and other relevant events and services as
appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. University of the

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Three (3) years of related work
experience. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated excellent
written/oral and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to
work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating
collegiality and a positive attitude towards team members and
stakeholders. Experience in a university setting with a proven
track record of engaging with and understanding faculty research
interests across multiple disciplines, preferably within
engineering or computer science disciplines. Experience in research
administration, including proposal development, budget management,
and compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.
Understanding of research compliance issues, including IRB ,
conflict of interest, and export controls. Exceptional project
management skills, with experience managing multiple and complex
projects and schedules to successful completion. Demonstrated
evidence of implementing persistence programs for underrepresented
students. Proficient in general computer skills, including
Microsoft Office products with emphasis in Excel, SharePoint, and
other LMS / CMS platforms. Commitment to quality of work,
initiative and responsibility, and driving projects to completion.
Strong ability to quickly establish a viable professional
relationship with employers, students, and members within the
academic community. Strong ability to effectively collect, analyze,
interpret, and present data. Positive attitude, proven ability to
work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated
commitment to promote and enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Knowledge of and commitment to Corporate Affiliates Program.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse
backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing
social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and
knowledge in their work. Work Schedule Work performed during
standard business hours. May require evening or weekend hours as
business demands.
