Position overview Position title: Postdoctoral Scholar in HCI
and Health Salary range: Commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The posted UCSC salary scales set the minimum pay based
on the individual's Experience Level, which is determined by the
number of months of postdoctoral service at any institution. See
the salary scale titled, Postdoctoral Scholar-Employee
/Postdoctoral Scholar-Fellow / Postdoctoral Scholar-Paid Direct
-Fiscal Year. A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,737 (
0-11 months experience level). Percent time: Full-time (100%)
Anticipated start: As soon as possible after the initial review of
applications. The PhD must be in hand by September 1, 2025 for
employment effective September 2, 2025 and beyond. Position
duration: Maximum Duration of Service in a Postdoctoral Title-
Postdoctoral Scholar appointments are full-time and the initial
appointment is for a minimum of two years, with the possibility of
reappointment. The total duration of an individual's postdoctoral
service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service

Christina Chung in the Computational Media Department at the
University of California Santa Cruz invites applications for the
position, Postdoctoral Scholar in HCI and Health. In collaboration
with Dr. Chung and her collaborators, the postdoctoral scholar will
contribute to research projects in the community-based personal
informatics research, including an NSF-funded project on routine
transition in personal informatics technologies and other projects
the selected candidate may be interested in exploring. The
postdoctoral scholar will also be part of Dr. Chung's lab at the
Silicon Valley Campus in Santa Clara and work closely with the
graduate and undergraduate students. The successful candidate is
expected to independently lead and collaborate on research,
including conducting fieldwork, system
design/development/evaluation, and lead and publish work in
peer-reviewed HCI or related discipline conferences or journals.
The candidate will have the opportunity to mentor students and gain
experience with grant writing. Additionally, the position could be
an opportunity to learn new methodologies or approaches.Please note
that the postdoctoral scholar is expected to be based in the
Silicon Valley Campus, located in Santa Clara, California but the
selected candidate will have opportunities to collaborate and
interact with the main UCSC campus.Applicants with knowledge and
interest in personal informatics, health/wellbeing, community-based
research, and/or expertise in qualitative, quantitative, design
research methods in HCI/CSCW/Ubicomp are encouraged to apply.
