Job Description Job Description Neonatology - Physician Opportunity in the San Francisco Bay Area This position is for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Neonatal Hospitalist to deliver specialized care for newborns within a diverse healthcare group located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Responsibilities include overseeing inpatient care for newborns, attending deliveries, managing transport services, and working collaboratively with neonatologists and pediatric subspecialists in NICU settings ranging from Level I to III. Our organization is looking for a BE/BC Neonatal Hospitalist to become part of a distinguished, integrated neonatology team dedicated to serving newborns and their families throughout San Francisco and the Peninsula. Practice Locations: California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco, CA) — 35-bed Level III NICU, serving as a regional referral center Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, CA) — Level I–II nursery with approximately 1,500 deliveries each year California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco): As a member of our Level III NICU team, your duties will include: Providing neonatal inpatient care and attending deliveries Offering night coverage in conjunction with an in-house neonatal hospitalist team Supporting an active well-baby service Managing transport services and high-risk perinatal navigation Accessing comprehensive pediatric subspecialty programs (including a small baby unit, neurocritical care, and neonatal surgery) through collaboration with a leading children's hospital Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame): Hospitalists will deliver specialized 24/7 neonatal care, which includes: Inpatient management for newborns (primarily Level I) Coverage for a 6-bed Level II Special Care Nursery Management of respiratory distress, jaundice, feeding challenges, and late-preterm infants (?34 weeks) Attendance in the delivery room and well-baby care Coordination with neonatology, transport, and pediatric subspecialists A strong family-centered care model emphasizing parent education, communication, and support You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, and labor & delivery teams to ensure seamless care and optimal outcomes.
