Job Description Job Description Flexible LPN Position - Per Diem/PRN - Mercy Perry and Nearby Areas This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) engaged in a flexible Gig Nursing Program at our hospitals, delivering patient care under supervision across various departments such as Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical. Candidates must possess recent bedside LPN experience, relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and the capability to work different shifts with minimal scheduling obligations. Nurses will rotate among designated locations, enjoying flexible hours along with shift incentives, though no shifts are guaranteed. Discover your purpose with us! Utilizing the nursing process, you will provide patient care under the oversight of licensed professionals authorized to prescribe medications and treatments, or under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN). You will maintain professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients, coordinating with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Position Overview: Location: Mercy Hospital Perry and Surrounding Areas Department: Gig Nursing Status: PRN/Per Diem/Flexible/Float Shift: Various Shifts Available BeAMercyNurse Incentives: $30/hour Variable Shift Incentives W-2 Employee Status Minimum of 12 hours every 90 days Maximum of 30 hours per week (Sunday to Saturday) Options for 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts Variable Shift Incentives Work When and Where You Prefer! Position Summary: Are you looking for a flexible LPN role with incentives? You can choose between day or night shifts based on your preference! There are no mandatory weekend, holiday, or shift commitments. Participation in the Gig Nursing Program entails being responsible for scheduling a minimum number of hours, being available on short notice, and being adaptable to last-minute shift cancellations. Please note that the Gig Nursing Program does not guarantee shift hours and will be the first to experience cancellations. The Licensed Practical Nurse - GIG will rotate among the selected facilities. Departments Utilizing GIG LPNs: Behavioral Health (BH) Emergency Department (ED) Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical-Surgical (MS) Facilities/Locations: Mercy St. Louis - St. Louis, MO Mercy Jefferson - Festus, MO Mercy South - South St. Louis County, MO Mercy Washington - Washington, MO Mercy Lincoln - Troy, MO Mercy Perry - Perryville, MO Mercy Southeast - Cape Girardeau, MO Mercy Stoddard - Dexter, MO Qualifications: Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent GED. Licensure: Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; equivalent educational experience and successful licensure will also be considered. It is the candidate's responsibility to obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the state where nursing duties are performed, adhering to all State Board of Nursing requirements. Experience: A minimum of one year of recent bedside LPN experience is required for Medical-Surgical roles. For other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.), at least two years of recent bedside LPN experience is necessary. Certifications: For Medical-Surgical (MS) - BLS required. For Critical Care (CC) - BLS and ACLS required. For Emergency Department (ED) - BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. IV certification is mandatory. Preferred Experience: Experience with Epic software is advantageous. Physical Requirements: This position necessitates the ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly. It also requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift, along with the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to fulfill job responsibilities. Why Choose Us?
