Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Sonographer - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 05/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer with strong TTE and TEE proficiency for a leading inpatient cardiac center assignment. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a cardiac operating room focused on advanced adult echocardiography - Dedicated inpatient echo caseload with a requirement of at least 200 inpatient cases documented - Perform a variety of echocardiography studies including TTE, TEE, contrast echo, and agitated saline studies - Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems - EMR system is Epic; familiarity is preferred - Work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Candidates may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital - Responsible for preparing patients, explaining procedures, and performing high-quality ultrasound studies - Must thoroughly review prior images and patient charts and ensure complete documentation for each study - Expected to maintain ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards - Duties include maintaining records, managing inventory, and promptly notifying the reader of critical findings - May participate in specialized protocols such as TAVR, Mitral Clip, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, VAD, or closure device studies - Must adhere to dress code and infection control protocols - Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date with a mandatory 30–60 day break required prior to returning /n /n Requirements/n - Current registration as a Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI - Active NJ license required if applicable - BLS certification from the American Heart Association - High school diploma or GED required; graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred - Minimum experience of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases by institutional referral - Proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff skills - Experience with contrast echo and agitated saline studies - Ability to recognize abnormalities and respond to critical findings independently - No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility - Familiarity with 3D echo imaging, TEE, stress echo, and Epic EMR system is preferred /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-662711.
