ACRT Pacific is currently seeking energetic experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our Transmission Forester position is ideal for seasoned professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and with experience in these fields and line of work.

Contingent at the approval of our clients, our Foresters perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along transmission lines using LiDAR detections flown by fixed wing aircraft and/or helicopter; Foresters will be responsible for NERC critical facilities; Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews; Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues; Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers. Note: This position is designated as a Safety-Sensitive role.

The position is headquartered in the North Bay areas including Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Santa Rosa, Lake County .

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • 1 year experience working in the green industry or related field OR a 2- or 4-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Biology, Environmental studies or related filed.

  • 6 months minimum experience working on PG&E Vegetation Management (VM) projects or another Electric Utility

  • Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates desired

  • Ability to read and follow maps

  • Experience in utility vegetation management preferred

  • Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required

  • ISA Certified Arborist preferred

  • Utility Specialist preferred

  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required

  • Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)

  • Valid Driver License and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle

  • Proficient use in Microsoft Office Programs
