Job Summary This detail will begin on November 1, 2022, and will end on June 1, 2023. The pay rate is $26/hour. However, $2/hour worked will be added to a bonus bank. Those who have finished their schedule by June 1, 2023, will receive a Job Completion bonus in one lump sum. Example: A 40-Hour employee who works the full 30 weeks would receive a completion bonus of $2,400. Our success as a team in the future begins with you today. Essential Job Functions ENTRY POST:A. Insure that only authorized personnel are allowed onboard the vessel.B. Verify each visitor's identity by checking contractor-issued or Government-issued ID cards.C. Notify the Project Manager and Shipmaster if a visitor shows up unannounced or fails to provide required identification.D. Maintain a daily visitor's log, logging in and out times, documented names, organizations, ID presented, time onboard, and signatures.E. Issue a shipboard visitor's pass for visitor identification purposes.F. Randomly inspect all persons' packages, suit cases, briefcases, boxes, tool bags, going onboard or offshore for weapons, explosives, government property or property belonging to the crew.G. Detain, without resorting to force, any persons attempting to bring any prohibited items(s) onboard, remove prohibited property from the ship, or refusing to submit to an inspection.ROVING PATROL POST:A. Continuously tour all spaces including but not limited to engine rooms, auxiliary machinery rooms, pump rooms, shaft alleys, generator rooms, boiler/fire rooms, steering gear rooms, and other machinery rooms.B. Check on all doors that must be locked. Immediately report any unlocked doors to the project manager. Maintain a list of secured areas.C. Punch the existing timeclock during your rounds to show your patrol route on the ship.D. Remain alert to conditions which may indicate flooding or rising water levels in machinery spaces, fire, water/oil damage, explosion dangers, disconnected electrical lines or welding leads, loose or unsecure equipment or machinery, unauthorized persons. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Possession of a current and valid BSIS guard license required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background and drug screening Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work 8-hour shifts including overtime on occasion. Willing and able to perform tasks that include repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking with or without reasonable accommodation. Reliable team player with a willingness to learn, lead, and take action. Good communication skills and an ability to adjust and follow instruction in a fast-paced environment. Use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. License/Certification Requirements Possession and continued maintenance of a Bureau of Investigation and Security Services Guard License and Exposed Firearm Permit required. Selection Process Applications will be competitively screened based on the minimum qualifications of this position.
