Summary: Manages production facility to meet the agreed standards of Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. Trains, mentors, supports and encourages employee career growth advocating a safe and productive environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Ensure facility is in safe operating condition and all risks have been identified and mitigated. * Ensure facility is secured at end of daily operation. * Point of contact for anybody entering the production facility. * Lead station / line improvement plan review with Support Functions. Set priorities. * Formalize and document a planned general inspection (PGI) at least weekly involving all departments. Inspection should consider 6s standards. * Forecast labor availability based on project inputs (planned/ unplanned leaves, absenteeism, etc.) for at least next 3 months. * Attend stations 5 min meetings ensuring standard agenda and documents are respected. Coach and mentor Team Leaders on process. * Analyze daily performance results & task blocking points from Team Leaders. Report and escalate as needed. * Ensure issues are formalized on the Open Issues list and that actions are addressed by all departments, both past and look ahead issues. * Define urgent corrective actions with Support Functions to meet delivery dates. * Create and implement visual management tools. * Lead end of day production progress meeting: * > Safety: incidents / risks identified > Quality: yesterday / new issues identified > Cost: labor efficiency yesterday > Delivery: To date completion - actual vs. plan, labor status, progress, recovery actions > Plan: work planned for next day/week > KPI: Develop and report key performance indicators * Define training needs based on competency matrix and project needs. * Train, record and develop technician skills. Define performance improvement plans. * Resolves employee grievances and submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources for action. * Supervisory_Responsibilities Directly supervises varies employees in production facility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Computer_Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Forklift and Aerial Lift license desirable. Other_Skills_And_Abilities Knowledge of fabrication and electrical tooling essential. Other_Qualifications Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced, stressful environment.
