CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT SANTA ROSA, CA Ground Up Commercial Building Construction General Contractor Opening: Construction Superintendent Location: Santa Rosa, CA (North Bay Area) Prestigious design-build ground up Commercial Construction General Contractor actively seeks seasoned and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our Santa Rosa, CA office. The ideally qualified Construction Superintendent will have considerable superintendent level ground up vertical building construction general contracting experience pertaining to large scale commercial, healthcare, or medical office building projects. The ideal Construction Superintendent will be an individual who enjoys working on a team in a fast-paced environment of construction. As a Construction Superintendent you can expect to work closely with the construction project manager, project engineer, and field personnel while performing many of the following responsibilities: Plans and supervises all activities including determining method of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment and work schedule Manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operation; creates daily job reports Provides input to cost and schedule forecasts; verifies work progress Coordinates with different crafts, company departments, or other contractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support project activities and project schedule Liaises with owners representatives (engineering, estimating, and planning) to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule Assists in resolving field construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) Monitors craft and subcontractor compliance with project safety program requirements; performs weekly safety inspections and tool box talks; documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented Ensures craft time cards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; assigns cost codes to all purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost Keep Project Engineer informed as to changes made in the field, so that such changes may be covered by general contact change orders and subcontract change orders. Trains job personnel Performs project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner Construction Superintendent Job Requirements: Four-year college degree or equivalent technical training and at least 6 years of ground up vertical building construction experience Minimum of two years of construction superintendent level construction supervision experience The ideally qualified Construction Superintendent will have considerable superintendent level ground up vertical building construction general contracting experience pertaining to large scale commercial, healthcare, or medical office building projects. Ability to read and interpret construction documents Five years supervisory experience using similar construction methods, equipment and tools Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups Familiar with computer and able to use company software Knowledge of MS Project is desirable Strong organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability Strong customer orientation Effective communication skills Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record.
