Job Description Join Pride Health as a Traveler Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at Fremont, MI! This is a 3 months contract role (with high possibility of extension) offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment. Role: Traveler Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Location: Fremont, MI 49412 Job Type: 3 Months Contract Possible Extension Shift Schedule: All day , 6:30AM - 7:00PM EST Hours per Week: 36 hours/week Start Date: ASAP Pay Highlights: $1500 - 1700/week (Based on years of experience) Key Responsibilities: Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting, and record maintenance Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures per department SOPs Review, verify, and release patient test results Maintain proficiency testing records equivalent to patient specimen testing Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines Perform and document quality control, instrument calibration, and maintenance activities Identify testing or system issues, perform corrective actions, or escalate to supervisor as needed Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from acceptable performance levels Report STAT and critical results according to department procedures Maintain accurate testing records and general department appearance Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled with receipt, expiration, and open dates Review and train on new laboratory procedures Attend monthly department meetings and required training sessions Participate in safety training and regulatory inspections as required Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications: Education: BS in Medical Technology (preferred), OR BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, OR Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, OR Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience Reliable personal transportation required (bus, Uber, or rideshare not acceptable) Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Note: Only Travelers accepted - Candidates above 50 miles are eligible. *Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credit.
